May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Chad and Nikki have chosen to observe this month with weekly episodes about current issues in the world of mental health. In episode 19, Nikki and Chad talk about the recent uptick in demand for mental health services facing their area and others around the country. Following, COVID many people have experienced new and worsening mental health symptoms prompting an unprecedented number of referrals to counselors, therapists, and social workers. This has led to long wait lists and wait times for many people needing help right now. This episode is a list of tips for navigating the time between asking for help and actually being able to talk to a mental health professional.
